These terms cover registering for and attending The Roanoke Conference. Registering means you accept them.
Who we are
The Roanoke Conference is an annual gathering held in Ocean Shores, Washington. Contact: info@roanokeconference.org.
Registration and payment
- A registration is confirmed when payment is received and we email you a confirmation code.
- Prices are shown on the register page and are in US dollars.
- Registrations are personal to the named attendee, but may be transferred to someone else at no charge by emailing us.
- We may close registration early if the conference sells out.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: refunds are the amount paid less the card processing fee, except where the conference is cancelled by us.
Conduct at the conference
The Roanoke Conference exists for open political discussion across disagreement. We ask every attendee to argue in good faith and treat others with courtesy. We may decline or end attendance, without refund, in cases of harassment, threats, or behaviour that prevents others from taking part.
Photography and recording
Sessions and social events are photographed, and sometimes filmed, for the conference's own use. By attending you agree that your image may appear in those photographs. Tell a board member if you would prefer not to be photographed and we will do our best to honour it.
Changes to the programme
Speakers, sessions and timings are subject to change. We publish the agenda in good faith and will keep it current, but a change of speaker is not grounds for a refund outside the refund policy.
Your information
We collect only what registration requires: your name, contact details and what you bought. We use it to run the conference and to contact you about it. We do not sell it. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and never reach our systems.
When you tick the box agreeing to these terms, we also record the date and time, your computer's IP address, and which version of these terms and of the refund policy was published at that moment. That record exists so that a refund questioned months later can be settled by what the policy actually said on the day you agreed to it.
Liability
The conference is not responsible for personal property, travel or accommodation costs, or for losses arising from a change to or cancellation of the event beyond refunding what you paid under the refund policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force for your registration is the one published when you registered, and the date it was published is shown at the top of this page.
