Calling all students
Special opportunities to attend
Engaging the next generation has been part of Roanoke since the first year. If you are a student in Washington State, there are two straightforward ways in.
Discounted registration
We offer discounted rates for students to attend the conference. Bring a valid student ID to check-in to confirm your eligibility.
Volunteer and attend free
Another option is to volunteer some time at the conference and attend at no cost. You will work directly alongside board members keeping the weekend running — which is also the fastest way to meet everyone.
Why come as a student
The same room as everyone else
Students get the same keynotes, panels and hallways as every other attendee, at a fraction of the price.
Students are one of the reasons the conference has such a wide age range in the room — and why a first-year student can end up in a genuine conversation with a sitting legislator before Saturday lunch.
What you get out of it
- Main-stage keynotes and panels alongside everyone else
- The Saturday gala dinner and awards presentation
- Direct access to elected officials, staff and consultants
- Political Science Theater 3000 — and the evening program
- A network that lasts well past the drive home
January 29–31, 2027
Come early in your career. Stay for twenty years.
Registration opens in October. Get in touch if you want to volunteer — places are limited and they go quickly.
