Recently married, Mike and Katie have risen to the top of the nation's political structure.  "We feel very fortunate to have the Shields be a part of our exciting 2018 Conference Program," said Roanoke President Anitra Zipperer. "Not only are they the new 'Power Couple' they have experience working with the diverse interests within the current Republican structure.  Their insight will be very interesting."

Mike Shields served as President of the Congressional Leadership Fund during the 2016 election cycle when they assisted 32 House races, winning an impressive 29.  Previously Shields served as the Chief of Staff to the Republican National Committee, President of the American Action Network, Political Director of the National Congressional Committee, and Communications Director for then Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.  Many in Washington State will remember Shields for serving as the Chief of Staff for Rep. "I have always wanted to participate in the Roanoke Conference, and I am glad we are finally able to attend," said Shields. "It will be great to see many friends and help kick-off the important 2018 election year."

Katie Walsh Shields has rapidly risen through the political ranks in her remarkable career.  After being a Regional Finance Director for John McCain's 2008 Presidential campaign, she became Deputy Finance Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.  In 2013 Walsh Shields joined the Republican National Committee where she eventually became the Finance Director and then the Chief of Staff in 2015.  Upon Donald Trump's election as President, Walsh Shields became Deputy Chief of Staff before becoming an Advisor to the America First Policies last spring.

"I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Ocean Shores in January," said Walsh Shields.  "The Roanoke Conference has quickly built a great reputation for being one of the top regional conservative conferences in the country."
